Jaipur fought hard for many years to stay in power. Jaipur remained a princely state until 1948.

 However, in the Battle of Patan fought in 1790, Jaipur was defeated against the Marathas. Jaipur was first ruled by Sanvai Jai Singh, followed by Ishwari Singh and then by various rulers belonging to the Kachhwaha dynasty.

 Jaipur became part of the Indian Union on 7 April 1949. Jaipur city was built by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II, the king of Amer. The architecture of Jaipur was designed by Bengal architect Vidyasagar Bhattacharya. It is the first city in India, which was planned according to Vishal Shastra.

2. Places to visit in JaipurThe huge building of Hawa Mahal is located at the intersection of Badi Chaupar, the main thoroughfare of Jaipur. It is considered as the signature building of the city and was built by Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh in the year 1799.



 Hawa Mahal:- Derives its name from its unique structure, resembling a mesh of small windows present, allowing cool air to enter the palace and keep the palace cool during summer days. The main purpose of the construction of this beautiful Hawa Mahal adorned with fine lattice windows and curtained balconies was to allow the royal Rajput women of royal Jaipur to watch the festivities happening on the street from the windows. Hawa Mahal is built in the Rajput architectural style and is constructed from red and pink sandstone.

 The palace has a pyramid structure that almost resembles a crown, and is decorated with numerous small windows. Hawa Mahal from within is based on five floors, each of which has uniquely decorated dwellings. There is a small museum here which houses some rich relics and miniatures.

The entry fee of Hawa Mahal is Rs 50 for Indians and Rs 200 for foreigners. Here you can also buy composite tickets, which will remain valid for two days. The price of this ticket is Rs 300 for Indians and Rs 1000 for foreigners. With the help of this composite ticket you can roam Hawa Mahal and the scenic spots around it for two days.

Nahargarh Fort:- which is one of the beautiful historical buildings. With delicate carvings and stone carvings, the Nahargarh Fort is an impregnable fortress that once stood in strong defense of the city of Jaipur, together with its two neighboring forts, Amer Fort and Jaigad Fort.

 The fort situated on the Aravalli hills was built by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II as a retreat in the year 1734. It was originally called the Sudarshangarh Fort, but was later renamed Nahargarh Fort, which literally meant "residence of the Tigers. 


With some breathtaking views of the city, the Nahargarh Fort is known for its extended wall that connects it to the Jaigad Fort.
 The Nahargarh Fort was built mainly for the women of the royal household.

 Mardana Mahal:- was also built on the premises for the royalists. Another attraction in the Nahargarh Fort is the Nahargarh Biological Park, which is a shelter for majestic animals such as tigers, leopards and Asiatic lions. Located near the City Palace in the Regal city of Jaipur, Jantar Mantar is the largest rock astronomical observatory in the world. 

Jantar Mantar:-Jantar Mantar was built by King Sawai Jai Singh in 1727-33. Jantar Mantar is also featured in the UNESCO World Heritage Sites list. The main purpose of the construction of this huge observatory was to study and gather information about space and time.

 Famous Temple of Jaipur Galtaji Temple
. Galtaji Temple has many temples, sacred kunds, mandapas and natural waterfalls.

 This majestic temple is situated in a mountainous area surrounded by a beautiful ghat which attracts tourists here every year.

 The Galtaji temple was built using pink colored sandstone and is a huge temple complex that houses various temples.

The building is decorated with painted walls, round ceilings and columns. Apart from the Kund, this pre-historic Hindu pilgrimage site also houses temples of Lord Rama, Lord Krishna and Lord Hanuman. One of the main tourist destinations of Jaipur, the temple complex has natural fresh water springs and seven sacred 'kunds'.

Among these kunds, the 'Galta Kund' is the most sacred and is believed to never dry up.

 This magnificent temple looks more like a grand palace or 'haveli' than a traditional temple. You can visit this temple from 5 in the morning to 9 in the night.

Albert Hall is the oldest museum in Rajasthan, located in the Ram Niwas Park in Jaipur. Standing as an ideal symbol of Indo-Saracenic architecture, the building is named after the Prince of Whales, Albert Edward. 
Also known as the Government Central Museum, it has an extensive collection of artifacts brought from different regions of the world. Equipped with lush green gardens, 

the foundation of Albert Hall was laid on 6 February 1876 when Albert Edward visited India. The museum's galleries have a collection of antiques and artifacts from the past that will surprise you.

Jaigarh Fort:- It is a magnificent structure situated on the hills in the Pink City of Jaipur. This magnificent building was built by Sawai Jai Singh II in 1726 to protect the Amber Fort.

The Lakshmi Narayan Temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu (Narayana), the patron and his consort Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth.
